Sama Retreats is a luxury boutique wellness resort nestled in a lush paradise on one of the most beautiful beaches in Sri Lanka. Sama is located on the most coastal edge of Sinharaja, an ancient and vital ecological rainforest that holds historical, mythological, and cultural significance. Here we found an abandoned property full of potential and restored the 10 acres into a thriving ecosystem where diverse and abundant plants, wildlife, and nesting sea turtles coexist in harmony.
Sama was once a vibrant fishing and stone quarrying village. Our cottages, designed to encapsulate the spirit of a typical village house, offer the simplicity and charm of living in a peaceful home by the beach, surrounded by lush gardens. We celebrate Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage and empower the local community, while inviting guests from around the world who share our values of peace and harmony.
